Our club, the Exeter Aces, was formed in 1963 with Cecil ‘Col’ Collett being the initial driving force behind the club in its formative years. He assembled a small group of local riders to compete in national team competitions.
From humble beginnings, staging events on a very basic track at Hamlin Lane, Exeter Aces CSC has developed over the years, following our relocation to a purpose-built facility at Marsh Barton.
Recent years have seen substantial growth of Aces’ youth and junior policy for recruiting young riders and supporting their development in the sport. The creation of a great cub atmosphere has also been key to the success of Exeter cycle speedway (as demonstrated by the photos on this page).
